New Autism Endorsement Program Offered

Teachers seeking advanced training in autism and related disorders can enroll in Wilkes University’s new 12-credit, online (with a 1-day residency) Autism Endorsement Program.

Pennsylvania-certified teachers who successfully complete the program will receive an endorsement from Wilkes University. The four 3-credit courses may also be taken as electives by education and clinical professionals who wish to gain additional knowledge in autism spectrum and pervasive developmental disorders.

The program can be completed in two semesters. The initial course, Autism Diagnosis and Treatment, includes a one-day residency at the beginning of the semester; the fall 2009 residency is scheduled for Sept. 19 from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. All other course work is completed online.
