Wilkes Hires Izzi Metz As New Head Men's Basketball Coach
Building on the strong tradition of a national power in men's basketball, Wilkes University has announced the hiring of Izzi Metz as the Colonels new head men's basketball coach. Metz is the tenth coach in the basketball's program history. View the full story here and a video of the press conference here.

Homecoming 2014: Share the Spirit!
Join your classmates and teammates at Homecoming 2014 - September 26-28! There is a new event called "Share the Spirit: A Celebration of Athletics at Wilkes," which will take place on the evening of Saturday, September 27. Here, you'll be joined by alumni, coaches, faculty and friends to celebrate the history of athletics and school spirit at Wilkes. There will be a Lettermen and Letterwomen's Reunion at the Tailgate Tent on Saturday afternoon, where lettermen and letterwomen will be recognized on the field immediately before the game. You can let Wilkes know you'll be at Homecoming by clicking here, if you don't want to miss all the fun!

Bo Ryan '69 joins Wilkes for Homecoming
A familiar face is coming back to campus to Share the Spirit with Wilkes. Bo Ryan '69 will be a special guest for "Share the Spirit" on Saturday, September 27. Ryan, a Wilkes U Athletics Hall of Fame member, coaches basketball at the University of Wisconsin and led his Badgers to the NCAA March Madness Final Four Tournament. 

62nd Annual John Chwalek Open
Wilkes University is hosting the 62nd Annual John Chwalek in memory of John Chwalek on June 26, 2014. The tournament is $125 per player. Register here!

Summer Camps & Clinics
Various sports are hosting camps and clinics this summer including baseball, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis, field hockey. Most camps are for high school student-athletes and some are for younger students. See more information or register here.


2nd Football Golf Outing
There's no better way to enjoy a summer day than a round of golf with some of your old teammates! Wilkes Football is hosting the 2nd Football Golf Outing at the Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course on August 15, 2014. Registration starts at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. There is also a Tailgate at 2 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex. The cost is $75.00 for golf outing and the tailgate. Register today!

Save the Date: Wrestling Nationals in Hershey
Coach Jon Laudenslager and Wilkes Wrestling will be hosting an event during the 2015 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, which will be held at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA. The event will be on Friday, March 13, 2015, so make sure to mark your calendars - we'll be sending out more information later this year. Coach John Reese will also be joining us at this event.

Soccer Teams Recognized for Academic Accomplishments 
Both the men's and women's soccer teams were recognized on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Team Academic.  The men's team earned a spot for the seventh straight year and the women's team made the list for the ninth consecutive year... more


Cross Country
The Wilkes University men's and women's cross country teams concluded their respective 2013 seasons running at the NCAA Mideast Regional.  The men finished 40th of 54 teams in the 8k race and the Lady Colonels claimed 40th out of 52 teams in the 6k meet... more

Field Hockey

Four Lady Colonels were selected to the field hockey All-Freedom Conference squads. Of the four Wilkes selections, one was named to the first team, two to the second team and one honorable mention... more

Football
Seven football standouts were named to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference football teams. Wilkes finished the season with a 4-6 overall mark going 3-6 in MAC play including wins over FDU-Florham, Misericordia, and Stevenson... more

Men's Soccer
Junior forward Eric McAnena of Horsham, PA, was selected to the 2nd team All-Freedom squad. Heading into next season McAnena will enter his senior year with 42 points scored (17 goals and eight assists)... more

Women's Soccer
Five Lady Colonels were selected to the women's soccer All-Freedom Conference squads and freshman Samantha Hockley of Middletown, PA, was named Freedom Rookie of the Year.  Of the four Wilkes selections, one was named to the first team, two to the second team and one honorable mention... more

Senior standout Casey Bohan of Harding, PA, earned her second consecutive First Team All-Freedom Conference honor while freshman libero Marissa Mallory of Pine Bush, NY, was tabbed an honorable mention selection... more
