Students & Civic Band Selected for PA Intercollegiate Band Concert

The Wilkes Division of Performing Arts announces that five students have been selected to perform with the 67th PA Intercollegiate Band at Shippensburg University on March 2, 2014.  Made up of band musicians from many universities and colleges in the state, Pennsylvania's Intercollegiate Band is the nation's longest running band of its kind.

The students selected to perform are James Steigerwalt, sophomore pharmacy major - bassoon; Jason Klus, sophomore - clarinet; Autumn Peck, freshman, pre-pharmacy major - clarinet; Kristen Chorney, senior, engineering major - flute; Carl Stevenson, junior, computer science major - trombone.

This year, the Intercollegiate Band has commissioned a new piece by renowned composer Dana Wilson, which will have its world premier at this year's Intercollegiate Band Concert on March 2, 2014.  As part of the commissioning project, Wilkes University's Civic Band will also perform this new piece, titled Quest, at its spring concert.
